Phase 3
In phase 3, children will learn another 25 graphemes, mostly comprising of two letters (see below). They will continue to practise CVC segmenting and blending.
During this phase, they will learn letter names (A, B, C, D. . .) and learn to read and spell some more tricky words (he, she, we, me, be, was, my, you, her, they, all, are).
By the end of phase 3, children will start to read sentences (e.g. I will soon visit my nan at the farm).

PARENT TOP TIP: Sing the alphabet song with your child. This is a good way for them to learn the names of letters (A, B, C, D. . .).
Phase 2 Phase 4
